Air is the most common and only natural breathing gas. Other artificial gases, purified or blended, are used in certain breathing environments such as diving. Most breathing gases are a mixture of oxygen and inert gases.
AIGCO and its group companies offer various gases for breathing and diving applications. The gases are produced to meet the most stringent production and purity specifications.
• Air
Compressed air is the most common and affordable gas for diving.
• Helium
Various helium based breathing gas products are available through AIGCO, all of which meeting the most stringent purity specifications. Please contact us for your specific requirements.
• Heliox
Heliox is a mixture of oxygen and helium. This gas mixture is much easier to breathe than air because of its low mass and is used when there is an obstruction in the trachea. In diving, heliox is used to facilitate deeper dives than those possible with regular air.
• Oxygen
Oxygen is used as a decompression gas in diving. The proportion of oxygen in a breathing gas determines the depth at which the gas mixture can safely be used; oxygen becomes toxic under pressure. Any breathing gas has a maximum operating depth determined by its oxygen content.
